Student Success Statement

SSS: "improve your performance by improving your attitude." -ANON
REFLECTION: I agree with this statement because it is stating that if you want to succeed something in life, then you must be respectful to everyone or anything that will help you achieve that goal or take you to that goal because if you dont, and you stay being disrespectful to them, then you will not go anywhere or achieve anything at all.
EXAMPLE: lets say you want an A on the upcoming test...if you want that grade and those two E's in the next progress report, then you must be respectful at all times.

Student Success Statement

"if it is not right, do not do it; if it is not true, do not say it." -Marcus Aurelius

REFLECTION: I agree with this statement because it is true that if you are doing something wrong, or about to, DON'T DO IT!!! But if you are thinking about doing something that is correct and right, then go ahead and do it!!! Also, if you are about to say something that is like vulgar language or any other type of disgusting thing, DO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT SAY IT!!! Unless, it is something appropriate to say then say it! The Power Of Study Groups (Part 1)

The Power Of Study Groups (Part 1)
Working Together Helps Everyone: You may have noticed that when you’re explaining something you’ve learned to a friend, you being to understand it better yourself. This happens because, when you explain an idea, you need to think more deeply about it.
The same principle makes study groups useful. Studying with others in a small group is helpful because you:
Ø Think out loud
Ø Share ideas
Ø Learn from one another
In an effective study group, you and other students hash out the lesson materials together—explaining concepts, arguing about them, figuring out why one person’s answer differs from another’s—and in the process, you most likely learn more than you would have studying by yourself.

SSS: "nobody ever did, or ever will, escape the consequences of his choices."  -Albert A. Montapert

SSS: "success is dependent on effort."            -Sophocles, Greek dramatist

REFLECTION: i agree with this statement because if you choose the right, then you will try hard and put effort into it and but if you choose the wrong, then you will not be putting effort into it and therefore, you will not achieve what it is that you've been wanting to achieve. CTR!!!

Student Success Statement

SSS: "choosing the right is always the right thing to do." Alex Linares

REFLECTION: i agree with this statement because you should always choose the right under any circumstances no matter what because you will always have to choose the right when the time for choosing the wrong comes along in your path.

EXAMPLE: lets say you have an exam the next day, on a monday, and your friends invite you to a party. but most likely like a little kick back. therefore you say well its just a kick back so i will attend. then you go and you come back very very late and werent able to study. so therefore you fail the test the following day. 10 Times Management Tips for Studying 5-10

10 Times Management Tips for Students

Tip 5. Review Your Notes Every Day: Reviewing helps you reinforce what you’ve learned, so you need less time to study before a test. You’ll also be ready if you get called on in class or have to take a pop quiz.

Tip 6. Get a Good Night’s Sleep: Your brain needs rest to perform at it peck. Lack of sleep makes the day seem longer and your tasks seem more difficult.

Tip 7. Communicate Your Schedule to Others: If phone calls or text messages are proving to be a distraction, tell your friends that you are only available at certain times of day and not to expect a response

Tip 8. Become a Taskmaster: Give yourself a time budget and plan your activities accordingly. Figure out how much free time you have each week before you add any commitments.

Tip 9: Don’t Waste Time Agonizing. Instead of agonizing and procrastinating, just do it =. Wasting an entire evening worrying about something you’re supposed to be doing is not productive, and can increase your stress.

Tip 10. Determine Your Priorities. You can’t do everything at once. Establish the importance of each item. Then set realistic goals that are attainable.

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens (Habit 7 Part 1)

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens (Habit 7 Part 1)

Habit 7: sharpen the saw

Teens should never get too busy living to take time to renew themselves. When teens “sharpen the saw” they are keeping their personal self-sharp so that they can better deal with life. It means regularly renewing and strengthening the four key dimensions of life- body, mind, heart, and soul.

1. Body. Eat wholesome foods, fruits, vegetables, legumes. Avoid illegal drugs, smoking, alcohol, tobacco products, tattooing. Exercise regularly and effectively. Get plenty of rest at night. Get to bed early at night and get up early each morning. “ early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”

2. Mind. Think positively. Read. Study. Think. Analyze. Seek to read a good book each month. Then each week. Ask intelligent questions. Observe. Develop your mind through positive “self-talk.”

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens (Habit 5)

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens (Habit 5)

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, and  then to be Understood

Because most people don’t listen very well, one of the great frustrations in life is that many don’t feel understood. This habit will ensure your teen learns the most important communication sill there is: active listening.

Why is this habit the key to communication? It’s because the deepest need of the human heart is to be understood. Everyone wants to be respected and valued for who they are—a unique, one-of-a-kind, never-to-be-cloned individual. People won’t expose their soft middles unless they feel genuine love and understanding. Once they feel it, however, they will tell you more than you may want to hear. People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.

Listen with your eyes, heart and ears. 7 percent of communication is contained in the words we use. The rest comes from body language (53 percent) and how we say words, or the tone feeling reflected in our voice (40 percent). Most people are eager to talk and had rather talk and listen. We have one mouth and two ears. This means we should listen twice as much as we talk. We actually learn more while listening rather than we talk. Learn to listen and listen to learn.

Listen, really listen, for understanding. Seek first to understand, and then to be understood--- listen.

Student Success Statement

SSS: " you cannot do wrong and feel right. it is impossible."              - Ezra Taft Benson

REFLECTION: i agree with this statement because it is true that it is absolutely impossible to do a crime, but feel right or proud of it! for EXAMPLE: let's say a man decides to kill all the children in the world just because his died in a car accident, and that it'll supposely make him feel better because since his kids arent with him, he doesnt want other parents to have there's. so when they finally catch him, at court they ask him, "does going out and killing innocent children make you feel better about losng yours even though killing other's mean killing people you never meant to hurt?" and he said, "noooo!" and they asked," then why did you do it if you just said that it does?" and he responded, "you cannot do wrong and feel right. it is impossible." THE END CTR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7 Habits of Highly Successful Habits Habit 3

7 Habits of Highly Successful Habits

Habit 3

Habit 3: Put First Things First

Important or not important, urgent or not urgent. Let’s look at the four quadrants of time management.

Quadrant 1: things that are important and urgent

Quadrant 2: things that important but not urgent

Quadrant 3: things that are not important but are urgent

Quadrant 4: things that are not important and not urgent

1.  Important & urgent
2.  Important but not urgent
3.  Not important but are urgent
4.  Not important and not urgent

Quadrant 2 is the ideal place to spend our time, doing things that are important but not urgent. Here’s where priorities come into play. The results for living Quadrant 2 are:

1.  Control of your life

2.  Balance

3.  High performance

So, in what quadrant are you spending most of your time? the key is to shift as much time as possible into Quadrant 2 and this is accomplished by planning. Spend more time planning and incorporating the most important things first, things that matter most. Keep your eyes on the prize and reach for it.

Profile Of A Successful Student Part 1

Profile of a Successful Student

Part 1

A successful student…

Takes responsibility for his/her own learning.

Online learning can be a powerful, stimulating, engaging experience for the student who can work and think independently. However, since most-if not all-of the learning takes place on your own time, you will not have the kind of direct supervision you would in a classroom. All education comes down to what you’re willing to invest in the experience-this is particularly true in the online environment. Commitment, self-discipline and self-motivation are all the key qualities to ensuring success in an online course! While some courses contain modules that include videos or other activities, all of them require significant amounts of reading. And nearly all of your communication with your classmates and your instructor will be in writing. If these are weak areas for you, you will want to address those issues prior to enrolling or while enrolled in an online course. The PSU Writing Center is available to assist you… is willing to be a member of a learning community.

Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement:
" seek to do good and you will find that happiness will run after you."       -James Freeman Clarke

Reflection: i believe that this statement is true because if you seek to do good things, or in other words, choose the right, you will get something good in return. for example: if you help a friend or a family member, by doing chores or yard work or etc... and not even ask for money or any other thing in return, you will get something good in return sooner or later. another example is when you're in need of assistance and need someone to help you with something, and you ask someone for help, and they help you and don't ask you for something in return, they will get something way better in return in the future whether its late or early :) CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!! <3
