Balancing And Part-Time Work (Part 1)

Balancing High School And Part-Time Work (Part 1)
Like many high school students, you may want- or need—to work part time. working takes a lot of time and energy, though, so before getting a job, make sure that you think about your ability to handle both work and your education.
Important Considerations: You have to weigh a number of factor’s when deciding whether to take on a part-time job. It is important to get as much information as possible, so you can figure out what choice makes the most sense for you. Schedule a meeting with your school counselor to discuss the idea of working. Talk to your counselor about why you want to work and what type of position you’re seeking.

Student Success Statement

"if it is not right, do not do it; if it is not true, do not say it." -Marcus Aurelius

REFLECTION: I agree with this statement because it is true that if you are doing something wrong, or about to, DON'T DO IT!!! But if you are thinking about doing something that is correct and right, then go ahead and do it!!! Also, if you are about to say something that is like vulgar language or any other type of disgusting thing, DO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT SAY IT!!! Unless, it is something appropriate to say then say it! Student Success Statement

SSS: "To know what is right and not do it is the worst cowardice."     -Confucius

REFLECTION: i agree with this statement because if you are a coward at doing what is right, like, you know that you should choose the right but you go with choosing the wrong because you are a chicken, to face your fears and choose the right, then that makes you a big time COWARD/CHICKEN/UNCOURAGEOUS/DUMB human being. (not in a disrespectful way).
but you should only be a coward at doing or saying something when your life is in stake.

Selecting Your Courses (Part 4)

                                  Selecting Your Courses (Part 4)
Social Studies
You can better understand local and world events that are happening now by studying the culture and history that has shaped them. Here is a suggested course plan:
1.   U.S History (Two Semesters)
2.   U.S Government (one Semester)
3.   World History or Geography (one Semester)
4.   One Additional semester in the above or other areas

Foreign Languages
Solid foreign language study shows colleges you’re willing to stretch beyond the basics. Many colleges require at least two years of study in the same foreign language, and some prefer more.
Learning foreign language can be a challenge but is exciting. Repetition is the key to learning a language, and having conversations with others speaking the same language is the best way to learn this new language. Repetition in a fun way will build your skills thoroughly  as you seek to master new languages.

3 Magic Keys To Living My Life With Integrity

What are the 3 magic keys to living my life with integrity?

The 3 Magic Keys to living with integrity are:
1. Achievement: make sure you know what you want to achieve in your life.
2. Loyalty: be loyal to others especially your elders and especially yourself.
3. Determination: determine who you really want to be in life, or what you want to achieve.

Selecting Your Courses (Part 3)

Selecting College Courses (Part 3)
Science
Science teaches you to think analytically and apply theories to reality. Colleges want to see that you’ve taken at least three years of Laboratory science classes. A good combination includes two semesters of each of the following sciences:
1. Biology
2.                Chemistry or physics
3.Earth/Space Science
a.               More competitive schools expect you to take four years of lab science courses. You can add two semesters in one of the following subjects:

4.               Chemistry or Physics ( the science you didn’t already study)
5.Advanced Biology
6.                Advanced Chemistry
7.Advanced Physics

Man Returns Stolen Money From Sears

SUMMARY: well this man chose the right by returning some money that he stole from sears, 60 years ago!!! it may have been late and all but maybe he returned it because of the guilt he felt. he made sure it was given to the sears manager because he handed it to him himself, not being ashamed, well maybe not im not sure. but yeah he gave the amount he took, plus more money for interest.

REFLECTION: I believe that what he did was a very brave, corageous, and intense thing to do. i really apreciated that noble thing he did even if he wasnt apologizing to me. CTR!!!!!!!!!!!

The Power of Study Groups (Part 4)

The Power of Study Groups (part 4)
Getting the Most of a Session :Here are some tips to help your group get the most out of each study session:
Ø Decide what you’re going to do in advance.
Ø Prepare for the session so you can make the most of your time together
Ø Take turn teaching to reinforce your own knowledge
Ø Stick to the session topic
By supplementing your individual study with a study group you can reinforced what you’ve learned deepen your standing of complex concepts and maybe  even make a few new friends. Remember that a friend is a person who encourages you to do your best and to achieve on a high level one who pushes you to try a little harder and be a litter better. If someone pulls you down the wrong trails of life than those people are not friends, (they are actually your enemies), and you must avoid them all cost. Whoever said learning can’t be fun? Learning is enjoyable and exciting when you study with others.

Student Success Statement

SSS: "success is dependent on effort."            -Sophocles, Greek dramatist

REFLECTION: i agree with this statement because if you choose the right, then you will try hard and put effort into it and but if you choose the wrong, then you will not be putting effort into it and therefore, you will not achieve what it is that you've been wanting to achieve. CTR!!!

SSS: " improvement begins with 'i' "           -Anon

REFLECTION: i believe that this statement is true because when you want to choose the right, YOU are the one that starts to do it not someone else for you because its your way and your option on how you want to do it. and when someone else chooses it for you, then it ends up beign wrong and not the way you wanted it to go. 4) soul: study scripts scriptures and other sacred literature daily. In other words, feed your spirit because your spirit needs spiritual food just like your physical body needs temporal food to survive. Pondering, meditating, and reflecting are excellent Soul-sharpening activities. Try writing your thoughts, feelings, aspirations, concerns, and decisions in a diary or journal. Writing helps you focus and make good decisions.

Get into the habit of daily improving your body (physical fitness), your mind, your heart, and your soul.

Student Success Statement

SSS: "if you do what's right, you have no need to fear."                 - Anon

REFLECTION: i believe that this statement is true because if you do good, then you'll feel good and everyone will respect you and you will have nothing to fear but when you CTW then you do have something to fear because, if you committed a crime, and didnt confess up about it, you will fear that they will catch you so you'll be worried all the time! CTR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EXAMPLE: lets say there's a man who crashes a car for being drunk and the next thing you know he just makes a U turn and drives away fast and there are cops and police men everywhere on the rez looking for that man and he is hidden because he fears them. therefore, he chose the wrong and now he fears the right.

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens (Habit 7 Part 1)

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens (Habit 7 Part 1)

Habit 7: sharpen the saw

Teens should never get too busy living to take time to renew themselves. When teens “sharpen the saw” they are keeping their personal self-sharp so that they can better deal with life. It means regularly renewing and strengthening the four key dimensions of life- body, mind, heart, and soul.

1. Body. Eat wholesome foods, fruits, vegetables, legumes. Avoid illegal drugs, smoking, alcohol, tobacco products, tattooing. Exercise regularly and effectively. Get plenty of rest at night. Get to bed early at night and get up early each morning. “ early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”

2. Mind. Think positively. Read. Study. Think. Analyze. Seek to read a good book each month. Then each week. Ask intelligent questions. Observe. Develop your mind through positive “self-talk.”

Student Success Statement

SSS: " alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."                     - Helen Keller

REFLECTION: i believe that this statement is true because, when we are alone, we cant really do much...but when we have our group of well-committed friends to help us, we can do/achieve ANYTHING!!!!

FOR EXAMPLE: lets say you are assigned to do a group project, and you only have yourself because you decided that you knew the whole material so therefore, you can do it on your own. but, as you begin your project, you start to realize that you cannot do it by yourself because there are some materials you didnt study and the project is due the next day!!! therefore, you contact your friends to come and help you because you need their assistance. so they come over and help you and you ended up with the best project you ever did because you added EVEN MORE INFORMATION than you needed. you thank your friends and let the teacher know they were there to help you ans you and your friends recieve an 'A+'.

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens (Habit 6)

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens (Habit 6)

Habit 6: Synergize

Synergy is achieving when two or more people work together to create something. Learning to synergize is like learning to form V formations with others instead of trying to fly through life solo. You’ll be amazed at how much faster and farther you’ll go. Synergy doesn’t just happen. It’s a process. You have to get there. And the foundation of getting there is this: learn to celebrate differences.

A good band is a great example of synergy. It’s not just the drums, or the guitar, or the sax, or the vocalist, it’s all of them together that make up the “sound.” Each band member brings his or her strengths to the table to create something better than each could alone. No instrument is more important than another, just different.

Student Success Statement

SSS: " you cannot do wrong and feel right. it is impossible."              - Ezra Taft Benson

REFLECTION: i agree with this statement because it is true that it is absolutely impossible to do a crime, but feel right or proud of it! for EXAMPLE: let's say a man decides to kill all the children in the world just because his died in a car accident, and that it'll supposely make him feel better because since his kids arent with him, he doesnt want other parents to have there's. so when they finally catch him, at court they ask him, "does going out and killing innocent children make you feel better about losng yours even though killing other's mean killing people you never meant to hurt?" and he said, "noooo!" and they asked," then why did you do it if you just said that it does?" and he responded, "you cannot do wrong and feel right. it is impossible." THE END CTR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7 Habits of Highly Successful Habits Habit 3

7 Habits of Highly Successful Habits

Habit 3

Habit 3: Put First Things First

Important or not important, urgent or not urgent. Let’s look at the four quadrants of time management.

Quadrant 1: things that are important and urgent

Quadrant 2: things that important but not urgent

Quadrant 3: things that are not important but are urgent

Quadrant 4: things that are not important and not urgent

1.  Important & urgent
2.  Important but not urgent
3.  Not important but are urgent
4.  Not important and not urgent

Quadrant 2 is the ideal place to spend our time, doing things that are important but not urgent. Here’s where priorities come into play. The results for living Quadrant 2 are:

1.  Control of your life

2.  Balance

3.  High performance

So, in what quadrant are you spending most of your time? the key is to shift as much time as possible into Quadrant 2 and this is accomplished by planning. Spend more time planning and incorporating the most important things first, things that matter most. Keep your eyes on the prize and reach for it.
